MIDLAND - New details on a story NewsWest 9 first brought you on Thursday.
It all stems from those recalled light poles at some West Texas ball parks and facilities.
A recall was issued earlier this week after close to a dozen light poles shattered and collapsed at venues across the country including one in north Texas.
The 70 foot poles come from the Whit-Co Company which is now out of business.
They were sold all over the country including eight places here in West Texas like Pecos ISD, Lamesa, the Crane baseball field, Kokernot Field in Alpine and Beal Park in Midland..
Crane was aware of the problem with the poles, but Sul Ross officials didn't know about the problem until NewsWest 9 told them.
Midland city officials say the lights at Beal Park are not part of the recall because those light poles are 60 feet tall not 70 feet.
