Continuance Granted in Larry Neil White Case

ODESSA - A district judge has granted a continuance in the capital murder case against Larry Neil White.

White is accused of shooting and killing three Odessa police officers back in September of 2007.

Judge Denn Whalen granted a 90 day continuance after White's attorney's filed a motion of incompetency. They say White is suffering from terminal stage 4 cancer and is unfit to stand trial.

The 90 day continuance will allow White to undergo another chemo-therapy treatment and be reevaluated.

His trial date had been set for August 17th in Howard County. No new trial date has been set.
