LUBBOCK - New details on the Midland Police Officer who was injured while working on an explosive device.
NewsWest 9 has learned he's been released from University Medical Center in Lubbock.
You may remember 40-year-old Sergeant Brian Rackow was injured over a week ago while he dismantled an explosive at the police training facility on FM 307.
Officials tell NewsWest 9, he lost a lot of blood in that accident and has numerous injuries to his face, arms and legs.
That's why they're asking for your help.
Midland Police are holding a blood donation drive to help Sergeant Rackow.
The drive will be held this Wednesday at City Hall in the northeast corner of the property.
The mobile blood unit will be set up from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The city has also set up an account at Community National Bank under the Brian Rackow Benefit.
