BIG SPRING - After a big battle over the new water park in Big Spring, city council members have decided just how much money they want to spend on the project.
City council members made the decision to spend less money on the plan for a family aquatic center in Big spring.
The Big Spring City Manager stated on Tuesday that he was asked by the city council to reduce the cost of the long awaited aquatic center.
What had started out as a 4.2 million dollar plan will now be $500,000 less.
Mayor Tommy Duncan was originally against the 4.2 million dollar price tag and that's when city council talked about changes.
They agreed to keep the overall design of the family aquatic center but will cut costs in areas such as landscaping and water cleaning processes.
The family aquatic center will keep its original open date of summer 2011.
