ECTOR COUNTY - More than a quarter of a million dollars returned to merchants across Ector County.
That's all thanks to law enforcement officials working together in a hot check round-up.
Officials gathered on Tuesday to give an update on the progress of the roundup.
Their efforts have paid off with twice as many residents showing up to pay their fines and outstanding warrants.
Ector County Attorneys say it saves you time and extra money to pay your fines up front rather than have deputies track you down.
Ector County officials have been working together to catch hot check suspects since 1990.
