ECTOR COUNTY - A man accused of helping the Permian high imposter is out of jail, but not out of trouble.

20-year-old Jabari Caldwell turned himself in at the Ector County Detention Center last Wednesday, then paid $25,000 to bond out of jail the next day.

He's charged of tampering with government records.

Investigators say he helped his friend, Guerdwich Montimer, enroll in school with fake papers.

He claimed to be Montimer's half brother.

22-year-old Montimer posed as a 16-year-old student and played basketball for Permian High.
