STANTON - Stanton Police are warning you to think twice before you open your door.

Police Chief Mike Adams tells NewsWest 9, they see more peddlers selling magazines and cleaning products this time of year, and sometimes they're scammers trying to steal your cash.

He's reminding you to be careful before opening your door to someone you don't know.

Be sure to ask if they have a city permit, which they should have, if they are from out of town.

If you are ever suspicious of someone going door to door in your neighborhood, contact Police or the Sheriff's Office.
