MIDLAND - Pretty soon the open space land west of the Rockhound's stadium will go from flat area to looking more like a well developed neighborhood.
"We like the visibility and access of the Loop. The Rockhounds Stadium and all the shops makes it just a cool place," Betenbough Homes President, Rick Betenbough, said.
Betenbough Homes have just signed a deal to build 250 homes along 71 acres of land, and developers say it's going to be, by far, their most extensive project in the area.
"The development is park oriented. Each street will be named after baseball players. The community will be called Legends Park," Betenbough said.
"It will be $90 per square feet, and that's for a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, brick home," New Home Specialist, Tonja Welborn, said.
Even with the sour economy effecting real estate, they're still confident their newest project will be successful.
"We don't know what the future holds, but we build value and that works in any economy," Betenbough said.
Betenbough Homes will break ground in the next 30 days and will begin selling homes in the Fall.
