The recent hot and dry conditions prompted a burn ban for two West Texas counties.
County Commissioners in Pecos County put it in place for the next 90 days.
Certain fireworks, including rockets with sticks, missiles with fins and motorized models are also prohibited.
Winkler County also approved a firework ban at their meeting on Monday.
They've banned aerial fireworks inside the Wink and Kermit city limits and on public roadways.
If you're caught lighting them off, it's a Class "C" Misdemeanor and you could get up to a $500.00 fine.
A burn ban is already in effect in Winkler County.
