Hobbs Man Drowns at Oklahoma Lake

MESSER, Okla. (AP) - The body of a New Mexico man who drowned has been found in Lake Hugo in southeastern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a bystander located 47-year-old Daniel Scott Hilburn of Hobbs, N.M. in six feet of murky water Saturday morning.

Hilburn was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he was fishing at the edge of the lake's bank in the Messer Point area, and had contact with another fisherman about 4 a.m.

The patrol says it's believed he fell into the water between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m..
