NEAR HOUSTON - A pilot who took off from Odessa on Thursday morning ended up making a crash landing in a Houston neighborhood.

Investigators say he ran out of fuel on the way to Bush Intercontinental Airport from Odessa.

The pilot tried to land his plane in a nearby field, but came up short.

Witnesses saw the plane circling overhead several times before the engine began to sputter.

That's when the single engine plane plunged toward the ground.

On the way down, the plane clipped a few trees and power lines and even did a few somersaults.

Eventually, the plane crashed into the back of a roofing business.

Amazingly no one inside the building was hurt and the pilot only suffered a broken nose.
