While many have the holiday weekend off, state troopers and other law enforcement are still on patrol focusing on speeders and drunk drivers.
One local organization is warning West Texans about the start of 101.
Stop DWI set up a visual reminder in the big lots parking lot in Midland on Saturday.
Last year during the 101 days between Memorial weekend through Labor Day, state troopers made 600 DWI arrests and issued numerous more citations.
Even just over this three day weekend, they want to make sure you're careful wherever you have to drive.
Usually, Stop DWI brings out those visual reminders like Kayla Grissom's car.
Grissom was hit and killed by a drunk driver on Andrews Highway in 2006.
