CARLSBAD, NEW MEXICO - Good news for the Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
Authorities have re-opened the scenic loop as fire crews are getting a better handle on a nearby blaze.
Lightning sparked the fire at the park last week.
So far, fires have scorched more than 16,000 acres of grass and shrubs.
The loop had been closed for several days to allow access for fire crews.
So far, more than 400 firefighters have been assigned to tackle the blaze.
