Citizens Angry Over Highway 385 Construction in Pecos/Brewster County

The never-ending construction on Highway 385 is raising questions from folks in Pecos and Brewster Counties.

County Commissioners even sent letters to TXDOT after citizens voiced safety concerns.

TXDOT told NewsWest Nine on Tuesday the fault lies squarely on the contractor's shoulders and they're paying for it.

At the end of April, the El Paso contractor racked up more than $40,000 in charges for being 6 months behind schedule.

TXDOT's district engineer in Odessa says he's talked to the company and says they have about 2 months to finish the job before the agency goes elsewhere.
