Man Arrested with Disturbing Items in Car Indicted

MIDLAND - The man who was arrested late last month after being seen driving slowly near a church where children were playing has been indicted.

48-year-old Juan Guerra of Big Spring was indicted last week on four counts of unlawful possession of a criminal instrument. That is two more charges than he was arrested for.

Midland County District Attorney Teresa Clingman says the two additional charges were added after each item was counted separately.

Midland Police arrested Guerra in the 1500 block of Idlewilde in Midland. Inside his car police found a gun, gags, hand ties and other suspicious items. Authorities say they believe Guerra was attempting to abduct a child.

Guerra's bond has been raised to over $1 million. He remains behind bars at the Midland County Detention Center.
