HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - Construction crews in Hobbs will soon be breaking ground on a new fire station.
The Hobbs Fire Chief tells NewsWest 9 thanks to a severance tax bond, state dollars will help pay for a new sub-station in the northwest part of town.
He says the city has been looking into building a new station for several years.
The northwest part of Hobbs has grown over the years, which is why firefighters expect a new station to be a big help.
Construction will likely start within the next two months.
