An Odessan, who used to work for a construction company, is accused of accepting kickbacks involving government projects.

Federal prosecutors say Ismael Salinas took money from sub-contractors who wanted to work with his company on government projects in Iraq.

They say Salinas pocketed $384,000.

Prosecutors accuse him of inflating the price of the subcontracts, then taking the extra cash for himself.

The 56-year-old is charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States.
