Hobbs Police Searching for Inmate Who Walked Away from Work Detail

HOBBS, NEW MEXICO – Hobbs Police need your help in locating an inmate who walked away from a work program on Sunday morning.

The inmate, who has been identified as 26-year-old Ismael Rodriguez of Hobbs, walked away from a detention officer at the Hobbs Animal Adoption Center located at 702 N. Grimes.

Rodriguez is described as a Hispanic male, 5'6", and weighs 220 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Rodriguez was serving a 30 day sentence for Driving on Suspended or Revoked License.  He'll face an additional charge for escape from Jail, which is a fourth degree felony punishable of up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Rodriguez is not considered to be a danger to the public.
