ANDREWS - Andrews leaders are hoping to make traveling a little easier between their county and Eunice.
They're hoping to expand about 30 miles of Highway 176 by adding between 4 to 6 extra lanes and officials are eyeing federal dollars to do it.
In fact, the county judge and city leaders traveled to Washington D.C. to apply in person.
The total project will add up to three million dollars, but they're asking congress for half.
The Andrews County Judge tells NewsWest 9, this project is partially due to the heavy oil industry travel, along with construction on WCS and LES plants.
He says without that federal cash, the project won't happen.
Right now, they're waiting on work from federal and state officials.
