MIDLAND - Catching the latest show by the Maverick Players at the Midland Park Mall will soon be a thing of the past; that's because they only have a few weeks left before they have to relocate.
"We're working on it, we're not dying yet," Maverick Players spokesperson, Mary Lou Cassidy said.
For the past 8 years, the Maverick Players community theater have called the Midland Park Mall their home, but soon that will all change.
"Our lease is over. They're not the villain. They've got big paying tenants coming in and we're fine with that," Cassidy said.
Maverick Players have until the first week of June before they have to close the curtain for good, and so far they have no set plan of where to go next.
"We have a show set to open for the end of May, but that might have to be postponed. We had some offers from other people but nothing certain yet," Cassidy said.
One thing is certain, the Maverick Players say the show must go on.
"We like what we do and our audience likes it too; wherever we go I know they'll be there, they've been good to us," Cassidy said.
Alice Church, the manager of Midland Park Mall, says they enjoyed working with Maverick Players, and hope to partner with them again for special events in the future. As for their new tenant, negotiations are still underway and will be announced soon.
