Three Aggravated Robberies Reported in Midland

MIDLAND - Midland Police are investigating three armed robberies that could have all been performed by the same person.

The first robbery happened early Sunday morning at the Knights Inn in the 1000 block of Midkiff. Police say a man entered the lobby and pointed a handgun at the clerk. The clerk handed the crash drawer to the suspect. He grabbed the money and walked out of the business.

The second robbery happened Sunday night just after 11:00 at the Pizza Hut in the 400 block of Andrews Highway. The suspect entered the restaurant while two employees were taking out the trash. The suspect grabbed a female employee by the shoulder and forced them back inside. He left after taking money from the cash drawer as well as the two employees.

The last robbery happened Monday morning around 6:00. A man entered the IHOP on Interstate 20 and demanded the manager open the safe. The manager could not do so, and the suspect struck the manager with a handgun and left.

In each case, the suspect is described as a black male in his 30s. In the first two robberies, he was described as being 5'7" to 5'8" tall with a slender build.

Police believe the man may have ripped off another business a week ago.
