ANDREWS - A one-of-a kind pilot water testing program in Andrews is turning out to be a success.
On Friday, NewsWest 9 learned the daily testing is finished; now they'll move onto weekly tests.
The utilities department has been going to the volunteer homes every day testing arsenic and fluoride levels, then they send those samples off to a lab.
This all started when the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality found higher levels of arsenic and fluoride that kicked off a special testing program.
The testing is expected to continue throughout the next year.
