MIDLAND - New details as bond has been set for a Big Spring man facing a number of charges including child pornography.

And the number is pretty big, $626,000.

Police say they want to keep him behind bars as they look through all of the evidence stacked against him.

Officers first arrested 48-year-old Juan Jose Guerra on Wednesday and since then he now faces possession and promotion of child pornography charges, along with unlawfully carrying a weapon, possessing a dangerous drug and unlawful use of criminal instrument.

Police and ICE agents arrested him the 1500 block of Idlewilde when Guerra was driving slowly down the street right next to a church where children were playing.

When police questioned him they found a number of suspicious items in his car including a revolver, a weighted pipe, a stun gun, condom, duct tape, gag items and prescription drugs that were not his.

Police were also able to find inappropriate pictures of children Thursday when they searched his computer in Big Spring.

No one was ever harmed by Guerra, but the nearby church says they will now consider making changes to increase security for their kids.
