Two Early Morning Fires in Big Spring

BIG SPRING - It was a busy Friday morning for Big Spring firefighters after two homes went up in flames.

The first happened about 12:30 Friday morning at a home in the 400 block of South Bell. It caused about $15,000 in damage. The vacant house was being remodeled and the fire is being investigated as an arson.

Then, about 4:00 Friday morning, another home in the 300 block of East Fifth caught fire. A burning candle is being blamed for that blaze. The home suffered extensive damage.

The resident woke up to the fire, but managed to get out unharmed.
