ODESSA - Another step forward for an Odessa project still trying to get off the ground.

The Odessa College Board of Directors unanimously approved a 75-percent tax rebate for the Parks Legado project.

Odessa businessman Colin Sewell has proposed turning 68 acres on Highway 191, near Faudree Road, into stores, restaurants, office space and housing.

Tuesday night's vote means Parks Legado would get a 75-percent discount on a mix of property and sales taxes over a ten year period after the company's initial 25-million-dollar investment.
