ODESSA - New details on a drug bust that occurred on Monday night in Odessa where authorities busted up a heroin trafficking ring, and put five people behind bars.
Almost a pound of black tar heroin was found, enough to get the attention local, state and federal law enforcement from all over West Texas.
The bust happened at a home in the 1400 block of south Alleghany around 8:00p.m.
Troopers, backed up by the FBI, DEA and the Ector County Sheriff's Office showed up with a search warrant.
They say they found almost $71,000 worth of heroin, which we're told is an unusually large amount of the dangerous drug.
The five people arrested are all facing federal charges.
The following suspects were arrested: Hector Alba, Jose Quezada, Mario Varela, Kristi Salinas, and Amanda Uballe.
