More Than 1,100 Shooters Participate in "Bad Boy Blast"

MIDLAND COUNTY - West Texans have a good reason to a little extra pride this weekend.

It appears as if our area may have one, if not, the largest charity shooting event in the state.

It was obvious if you saw the hundreds of cars filling the parking lot at Jake's Clays in south Midland County on Saturday.

West Texans came out in full force to participate in this year's 7th Annual "Bad Boy Blast."

The sporting clay shoot brings in thousands of dollars that benefit police departments in Midland and Odessa, plus Midland and Ector County Sheriff's Departments.

NewsWest 9 learned on Saturday that more than 1,100 shooters participating in the event.

That's up since last year and in total over six years, organizers say they've given back $445,000.

Saturday's event was put on by Halliburton and Conoco-Phillips.
