HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - A new job ad in the Hobbs News-Sun is getting a lot of attention.
The city took it out saying it's looking for a new City Manager.
Current City Manager Eric Honeyfield has been surrounded by controversy recently for his double dipping plan.
He was going to retire, collect his pension, then come back on-board in the same position and collect a salary on top of that.
But after public outrage, the city decided to do away with that plan.
The day the deal died, NewsWest 9 talked to Honeyfield.
He said he planned to resign, but then later told the Hobbs News-Sun he never said that.
NewsWest 9 called city officials on Friday to find out if Honeyfield resigned and they said no.
NewsWest 9 asked why they're looking for a new city manager.
They told NewsWest 9 they could not comment on the matter.
