MIDLAND - Midland College students put to the test on Tuesday.

A simulated car crash helped give real world experience to students pursing medical careers.

EMS trainees used the Jaws of Life to pry the victims from the rubble, and then nursing students tried their hands at treating those victims in a hospital setting.

Program directors say this is an important exercise as a classroom setting can only teach so much.
