ODESSA - Crime victims get some recognition in Odessa.
Since it's Crime Victims' Rights Week, several different agencies are teaming up to commend those people for their bravery and struggles.
The grassroots movement spends hundreds of hours and dollars to make sure victims know when trials are scheduled and when offenders are released.
Some people NewsWest 9 talked to at Monday's event say there are too many barriers in place that only make victims unsafe.
Mayor Larry Melton and Judge Susan Redford also issued city and county proclamations to local advocates.
