ODESSA - The rainy and cloudy weather didn't keep West Texans from coming out for a TEA party protest.

Jim Parker Park in Odessa was full of flags, signs, chairs, raincoats and umbrellas.

On Saturday, West Texans heard from a number of speakers, including a few local politicians.

Supporters say with Saturday's TEA party protest they're reminding everyone how, as they claim, the federal government spending is out of control.

There was a variety of issues brought up during the event.

Members of the Odessa TEA party say they welcome new members.

If you are interested, they say you're welcome to come this Monday at 7 pm to their meeting at Odessa Bible Church.
