MIDLAND - The Midland Police Department is providing residents with a new, interactive, Internet crime map.

As soon as the page loads, the  computer screen is full of icons, showing where a particular crime happened in the city of Midland.

You can search for any of the fifteen crimes on the list either by crime, location or date.

According to the map, there have been four cases of vandalism, within a one mile radius of North Midland Drive in the last 90 days.

Once you've got a specific location on the screen, you can add different crimes and see how many have been reported there.

There is also a CyberWatch tool. By clicking on the link, it takes you to a page where
you can sign up to receive emails alerts on recent crimes.

Midland police hope this system will help them better patrol Midland neighborhoods
by keeping home and business owners better informed.
