Funeral Held for Reeves County Deputy

PECOS - Thursday was a tough day for the Reeves County Sheriff's Department who had to bury one of their own.

Friends and family said goodbye to Deputy Jacob Rayos who was killed in the line of duty over the weekend.

Rayos was killed when his car rolled early Sunday morning. Troopers say he was chasing a suspect on the I-20 service road, east of Highway 17 in Pecos, when he hit a curve too fast and rolled.

Law enforcement from agencies across West Texas showed up to pay their respects at the Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. Deputy Rayos leaves behind a wife and five children.
