BIG SPRING -  A stolen van, illegal drugs and a high speed chase came to a crashing end in Howard County.

35-year old Joshua Barnes is already facing multiple charges, including stealing a van and meth possession.

Authorities tried to pull him over in Mitchell County for a routine traffic stop.

He refused to stop and the chase was on.

Mitchell and Howard County Deputies, along with DPS Troopers and Big Spring Police pursued the suspect.

Deputies say the chase ended 25 miles later after Barnes left the interstate at around 100 miles an hour, crashing right into a light pole.

We're told Barnes was actually smoking meth while he was driving.

On top of that, the stolen van had stolen plates.

A woman riding with Barnes was taken to the hospital.

We're told both are from New Mexico.

Authorities are still investigating.
