The fear of border violence has caused a local school district to take a hard look at where they send their students.

Fort Davis ISD canceled a baseball game last week that was supposed to be played in Fort Hancock, which is southeast of El Paso.

Several recent stories have focused on the threat of drug violence spilling over the border near Fort Hancock.

Fort Davis officials tell NewsWest 9, the safety of the students comes first and decided playing the game just wasn't worth it.
