REEVES COUNTY - Funeral arrangements have been set for a Reeves County deputy who was killed early Sunday morning in a rollover accident.
The accident happened around 3:00 a.m. Sunday on the Interstate 20 service road just east of Highway 17. DPS troopers say 32-year-old Jacob Rene Rayos was driving westbound on the service road when he rolled his 2009 Ford patrol car at a curve.
Troopers say the speed limit in the area is 55 miles-per-hour and Rayos was traveling at a high rate of speed trying to locate a suspect. His patrol car rolled several times and Rayos was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.
