ODESSA - An Odessa group is trying to restore some local history.

A few years ago, alumni of the former all black -- Blackshear junior high and high school, realized some of their history was gone.

Now, the Blackshear historical group is calling out to former students to send in school memorabilia so their legacy isn't forgotten.

The Ector County School District is also helping the effort by agreeing to provide a location to display the artifacts once they're collected.

If you have memorabilia from the school and would like it displayed, contact Wanda Clayton at the Odessa Black Chamber of Commerce at (432) 332-5812 or by e-mail at walc69@hotmail.com.
