Another elected state official is setting his sights on Texas Veteran's Homes after allegations of abuse in Big Spring and Amarillo.

On Wednesday, Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson joined Kel Seliger in calling for more scrutiny in those homes.

During an interview with the Dallas Morning News on Wednesday, Patterson said he wants any allegation of veteran abuse prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

On Tuesday, Seliger said he wants an immediate report from the Department of Aging and Disability Services to find out how the veterans are being treated.

This stems from indictments against Bryson Vanderbilt and Connie Mae Johnson accused of abuse dating back to 2007 at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Veteran's Home in Big Spring.
