NEAR CARLSBAD, NEW MEXICO - A mining accident in southeastern New Mexico left a worker trapped for several hours on Monday.

It happened at the Intrepid Pot Ash Mine near Carlsbad.

Officials say the man was underground to check out what caused a power outage, when the elevator he was in got stuck.
