MARTIN COUNTY - This month, Martin County residents will have to chance to learn more about an upcoming bond election.

Officials say if it's passed, it will help to build a brand new hospital.

The first meeting will be held at Flower Grove Gin on Thursday, April 8th.

On April 22nd, they will hold a meeting in the auditorium at Grady School.

And on April 28th, they will talk with Stanton residents in the Martin County Senior Center.

All of those meetings are on Thursdays and will start at 6pm.

Hospital officials announced the May bond election to pay for the new facility in March.

They say the old building was built in 1949 and is falling apart.

Much of the equipment is too old and many of the facilities are spread out all around Stanton.

They say it's time to build one facility for everything and put it right off Interstate 20.

The bond itself will be for just under 23 million dollars.
