BIG SPRING - Charges of abuse at a West Texas Veterans Home made news again in one of the largest newspapers in the country.

An article in the Dallas Morning News this weekend places the spotlight on the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veteran's Home in Big Spring.

The article goes into detail about the alleged abuse, including the story of a nurse's aide who grabbed a 97-year old vet from his wheelchair handling him in a rough manner.

It also includes one story of a vet who was choked by one of the attendants and an army mechanic from World War II, whose family says he was afraid of one of the home's attendants.

The Big Spring facility is one of seven state owned Veterans Homes.

You may remember, two of the facilities former employees were indicted last month on abuse charges.

The home says despite the allegations, no patients were ever at risk and they've since re-trained their employees.
