Investigation Into Balmorhea Plane Crash Continues

BALMORHEA - Crews have identified the pilot who was killed in a plane crash Sunday afternoon at Balmorhea Lake.
DPS officials have identified the pilot as 77-year-old Charles L. Stutesman from Bowie, Arizona.
He died when he crashed his plane into the lake around 1:00 Sunday afternoon.
Stutesman body has been sent to El Paso for an autopsy.
Officials are still not sure if a second person was on the plane at the time of the crash, but divers spent Monday morning searching the body of water in far western Reeves County.
Pecos Police reported seeing a plane flying low with its landing gear down before the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board is looking whether human error, plane problems or weather may have caused the crash.
