MIDLAND - The Amber Alert was issued Wednesday night after a 19-month-old boy was allegedly taken by his mother's boyfriend.

Police say 26-year-old Michael Edward Beseril drove up to the child's mother who was walking along Marienfield and Cuthbert, grabbed the kid and fled the scene.

After the mother filed a police report on Wednesday afternoon, an Amber Alert was issued. Authorities say that once the report was filed, they found the boy without incident.

"It went pretty quickly and smoothly. The only thing unusual was that they waited to file a report to the police," Tina Jauz, with the City of Midland, said.

The child was found at a home in Odessa, and was returned safely to his mother.

Beseril is charged with aggravated kidnapping among other charges.

He is being held without bond.
