FORT STOCKTON - A shake-up at the prison in Fort Stockton after allegations of a fight between an inmate and a guard.

NewsWest 9 has learned four prison workers are now out of a job.

But that doesn't mean the matter is settled, far from it.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) tells NewsWest 9, those resignations came after an altercation with an inmate at the Lynaugh Unit earlier this month.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice would not go into detail about the fight, but here's what we know.

The incident happened earlier this month, the inmate was not badly hurt, but a correctional officer did sustain minor injuries.

That officer, along with two Sergeants and a Lieutenant, have now quit over the incident.

The TDCJ has referred the matter to the office of the Inspector General who has opened a criminal investigation.

The Inspector General investigates allegations of excessive force at Texas prisons.
NewsWest 9's calls to their Austin offices were not returned.

We will keep you informed on any more developments.
