Toddler Critically Hurt in Odessa Crash

ODESSA - State troopers are investigating a Friday morning crash that landed a toddler in critical condition in a Lubbock hospital.

Investigators think it started with a couple arguing before they took the fight on the road.

It all started around 7:00 Friday morning just north of Odessa. According to DPS officials, a woman got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend. It's believed the man began chasing her in his car, when she took off in her vehicle.

Troopers say the woman was going north on Andrews Highway, when she crossed the median into the southbound lane. She swerved to avoid an oncoming car, but still hit the vehicle.

Inside that car was a woman with two-small children. A two-year-old was airlifted to Lubbock and is in critical condition. The woman suffered a broken ankle. The one-year-old was not hurt. No other injuries were reported.

Troopers still want to talk to the man involved in the domestic disturbance. There are no criminal charges pending at this time.
