ODESSA--Plans for a new, multi-use town center off of Highway 191 are in the works.

It's the first of it's kind in Midland-Odessa.  When it's all said and done, a small patch of land between Faudree Road and Billy Hext, will be transformed into The Parks Legado Town Center.

Project spokesman Collin Sewell tells NewsWest 9, the 68-acre town center will feature over 700,000 square feet of office and residential space, as well as commercial and retail businesses in a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere.

Sewell says construction on the project, which will be done in phases, will take between five and six years to complete and when it's done, will attract more people to Odessa.

The Parks Legado Town Center will include tree lined streets, water features, outdoor dining     and a play park for children.

Construction on phase one should begin later this year and the first business should be ready to open in early 2012.
