Upton County to Vote on Hospital District Taxes

RANKIN - Voters in Upton County will weigh-in on a rollback election that could leave the Rankin Hospital District cutting its staff.

A group of citizens felt like the property tax was too high in the hospital district so they rallied enough support to get a proposition on this coming Tuesday's ballot.

If the proposition passes, property taxes will go down. Hospital officials say that means they'll have to make cuts and they're already looking for ways to do that in case the votes don't swing their way.
