SEMINOLE - There's no city zoning code or ordinance in downtown Seminole, but a new project circulating through the City Council is about to change that.

City leaders tell NewsWest 9, neighbors have wanted a change for a long time and now they're planning on sprucing up four blocks on Main Street surrounding the courthouse.

They'll make sure all the buildings are uniform, add all new sidewalks, plants and lighting along with a sprinkler system.

The council plans to meet again on March 15th to finalize the plans.

At that point, they'll send the project out for bids.

If all goes according to plan, they hope to start construction in about five months.
