BIG SPRING - The City of Big Spring has made a lot of progress, but still has more to do.

That was the message from Mayor Russ McEwen in his state of the city address.

McEwen spoke to residents and city employees on Tuesday morning at the Dora Roberts Community Center highlighting the city's success this year with projects like the street re-construction, Howard College programs, the VA Hospital and downtown re-construction.

While the last year was a good year, there is still more work to do in the coming year.

"We are accomplishing a great deal but there is still more to do and we need to keep leaning in the direction of our goals for our community. Today is different than it was 10 yrs ago," Big Spring Mayor Russ McEwen, said.

City projects for this year include the aquatic center and the Big Spring school bond.
