PECOS - School officials in Pecos are scheduled to meet this week and possibly accept the superintendent's resignation.

It has a lot of people talking some for and some against Superintendent Santos Lujan.

The Board of Trustees of Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD have called a special meeting this Tuesday at 6:00p.m.

There aren't a lot of details at this time, however the agenda says the meeting will cover Superintendent Santos Lujan's exit agreement.

NewsWest 9 has received several calls from Pecos residents this week saying Lujan has not been in his office.

The School Board President tells NewsWest 9, the Superintendent took the week off to attend to his wife who has been ill in the hospital.

Just over a week ago, about 100 parents and students held a protest over Lujan's decision to remove the Pecos head coach from his current position.

Lujan told NewsWest 9 he reassigned the coach because he wanted to make some changes in the athletic department.

Some in Pecos say they are shocked over the way the Superintendent handled the situation.

But there is also at least one resident who supports Santos Lujan, and says he is doing a good job.
